Harvard Update - now it's really time to look beyond the Harvard's of the world
Harvard sent out their acceptances yesterday to 4.9% of their applicant pool - an all-time low number.
Hooray!
I'm not Harvard bashing - my Alma Mater accepted an all-time low also, but this is nothing to be proud of. The Ivies (and other colleges) plaster juniors and seniors with mailings that give them the impression that they have a chance to get into those impossible-to-actually-get-into places, which leads to those incredibly low acceptance rates. And at approximately $75 per application for many of these schools, what a great financial model, as well as a way to up your US News reputation grade.
Here's a link to the article that explains who Harvard did take, by demographic group.
